Air -Port Hardy offers the nearest airport to Coal Harbour.  It is about 25 kilometers from the airport or about 20 minutes.  Additionally, sea planes can fly directly to Coal Harbour.  Vancouver is about 90 minutes by air.  Airlines serving Port Hardy include Pacific Coastal Air and Eagle.

Automobile - Coal Harbour is 315 miles or 508 kilometers  from Victoria or 256 miles or 410 kilometers  from Nanaimo.  Both areas are served by B.C. Ferries.  Additionally, ferry’s run from Seattle, Port Angeles and Anacortes, Washington.  From these areas, take Highway 19 north to Port Hardy and turn west for 15.6 kilometers or approximately 10 miles.

Although the scenery throughout B.C. is fabulous, the drive between Port Hardy and Sayward is among the most spectacular.  Don't miss it by driving after dark.  Take the time to savor and appreciate the drive through the Nimpkish  Valley.

Ferry - B.C. Ferries serves the Port Hardy area with ferry service from Prince Rupert.  Please check the B.C. Ferry schedule for departures and arrivals.

Cabs are available from the airport and ferry to Coal Harbour.
